2026 Mammoth Underground Roof Fall
A spokesperson for the state's resources safety regulator, Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ), said a roof had collapsed.
"Resources Safety and Health Queensland was made aware of an incident involving a roof collapse that occurred at a central Queensland coal mine this afternoon," they said.
"RSHQ, along with emergency services and mines rescue, is responding.
"Our current focus is on supporting efforts to recover a worker involved in the incident."
In a statement, a spokesperson for the contracted Mammoth Underground mine operator confirmed a worker was unaccounted-for and said it was providing its "full co-operation" to rescue efforts underway at the site.
