Brumadinho Dam Failure
On the 25th of January 2019 the dam wall on a tailings dam at the Corrego Do Feijao Iron Ore mine near Brumadinho, Minas Gerais, Brazil, failed releasing a mudflow killing at least 186 and leaving a further 122 unaccounted for, 182 were rescued alive.
The failure occurred just after noon.
This accident claimed the lives of 308 people.
